Freelancing Checklist

  1. Find a cool name for your eenmanszaak with a free domain (hard). Buy the domain.
  2. Go to the KvK and register your eenmanszaak.
  3. Register your eenmanszaak with the belastingdienst.
  4. Get an accountant. Make sure they are looking out for your best interest.
  5. Keep all receipts so you can claim the BTW (quarterly).
  6. Prepare your CV and put it on online job boards.
  7. Learn to deal with recruiters (this is an art). Slowly build up a list of recruiters who are pleasant to work with.
  8. Know your worth. Know your bottom line. Don’t be afraid to refuse jobs.
  9. Make a pretty website.
  10. Make some pretty business cards.
  11. Network. Know what you are good at and be ready to talk about it.
